ONLINE MASTER OF ARTS DEGREE IN SPECIAL EDUCATION

Preparation Information

For those who live and work in Minnesota who would like to prepare for a teaching license in special education, the online Master's in Special Education program at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota may lead to additional or initial licensure in Learning Disabilities, Emotional/Behavioral Disorders, and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder in the state of Minnesota. Licensure preparation includes mandatory hours of field experience (student teaching/practicum) at multiple levels (elementary, middle and high school), which must be completed within the state of Minnesota. Staff within the Office of Field Placement will ensure that all licensure preparation requirements are met including completion of the Minnesota Teacher Licensure Examinations. Initial licensure students will need to complete foundational courses at the Twin Cities or Winona Campuses.

The Saint Mary’s support network is ready to help you with this important licensure procedure to make sure your online master’s degree comes with maximum career-building clout.
