ANDREW SARATA: Being able to do my whole program on an iPad was really interesting to me.
SARAH WEBER: The mobile aspect is huge. I can do my work whenever I want.
BOB ANDERSON: By the way we embed the iPad and learning, it helps the students develop digital literacies that are so important to a 21st century citizen, as well as learner.
ROB SCHNIEDERS: One of the big areas of focus was, how do we allow students to connect with other students, to connect with their faculty. And this was not just within a course, while you might be learning with another student, but throughout the program.
MICHELLE PYSKATY: If you need to talk to your teacher, you can send messages through it. If you need to talk to your fellow students, you can send messages through engage as well.
ROB SCHNIEDERS: You could actually mark a student that you've learned with and contact them later. And all of your history of your interactions is stored up through the entirety of your program.
ANDREW SARATA: Engage is fantastic in the sense that you can access your assignments anywhere you're at. You can turn in your homework.
MICHELLE PYSKATY: It's pretty much the heart of the online coursework that we do.
DIANA TEODORESCU: One of the benefits of mobile learning is the availability and utilization of a variety of apps. VoiceThread, Visual Poetry, Doodle Cast Pro, D-Go Pinterest, Twitter even.
ROB SCHNIEDERS: Students can do things like put their FaceTime ID or Skype ID in there and while another student is online at that particular time, they can connect with that student. We've also integrated Adobe Connect, which allows faculty and students to have multi person sessions at scheduled times, so that they can actually do virtual learning with a group.
BOB ANDERSON: The tablet is the quickest adapting device in any mobile technology. So we think using the iPad will make them more productive at work. And it's going to help them bridge the academic practices and inform and improve their professional activities.
