Professor Johnson holds a Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Administration from the University of Minnesota; M.A in Communication from University of Minnesota; and B.A. in Speech/Theatre from Hamline University.
Since 1999 he has taught at Saint Mary’s University in three programs including the Master of Educational Leadership, the Master of Art in Education, and the Bachelor Completion program. Since 1982 he has also been a full-time tenured professor at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minnesota.
To his credit he has authored over 60 articles for various publication including scholarly journals, newspapers, poetry anthologies, etc.
His honors include: Fulbright Scholar; McKnight Fellow; the Brother Julius Winkler, FSC Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Recognition Award from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota; the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees Outstanding Educator Award; and the Golden Apple Excellence in Teaching Award.
