Dr. Amy Heinz has worked in healthcare as an occupational therapist for nearly 25 years. She has practiced in a variety of healthcare settings including nursing homes, hospitals, rehabilitation units and homecare settings.

Amy began teaching at St. Catherine University in the Occupational Therapy Program in 1999, engaging in a variety of teaching, scholarly, and service activities. In 2012, Amy took on the role of Associate Professor and Program Director for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at St. Catherine, a position she held until 2016. She has worked with associate, masters, and doctorate level students, both in and outside of occupational therapy curriculum.

In 2002, she earned her master's degree in Organizational Leadership from St. Catherine University and completed a life coaching certification from Learning Journey's International Center for Coaching. She completed her doctorate in occupational therapy in the education track from Rocky Mountain University in 2015.

Amy has a passion for educating students to become leaders and lifelong learners who are prepared to address the constantly evolving healthcare needs of society. She lives in Prior Lake, MN with her husband, three daughters, and French bulldog, Ivy Beatrice. In her free time she enjoys running, yoga, and playing on the lake with her family and friends.
