Heather Steffens is a Service Line Director for Medical Specialties for MHealth Fairview in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Specifically, she oversees the operations for the specialties of Allergy, Asthma, Nephrology, Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine across the Twin Cities. By clinical background, she is a Registered Respiratory Therapist, specialized in Neonatal and Pediatric intensive care and life support. She has worked for numerous facilities across the U.S. as a traveling respiratory therapist. She moved to Minnesota in 2002 and began her career with MHealth Fairview.
She has held several leadership positions during her 18 years with MHealth Fairview. She has worked on teams that have designed and implemented the world’s first interface between the Epic EMR and patient’s home CPAP machines allowing clinicians a way to track and intervene with patients to enable their success. This project also allows for the sleep team to delve into population health by creating a large database to extract real-time data.
Heather earned a Bachelor of Science from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota, with a major in Pulmonary Science and an M.B.A. Concordia University in St Paul. She has been an adjunct instructor with Saint Mary's University of Minnesota for one year and holds the rank of Instructor. Heather teaches Health Informatics and Application. Her previous teaching experience includes courses in Compliance and Regulatory as well as Health Informatics.
Heather also holds the rank of Adjunct Faculty at Concordia University in St Paul.
Heather currently lives with her husband and two children in beautiful White Bear Lake, Minn. When she's not working or teaching, you can find her reading or doing DIY projects or crafts.
