The 40-hour field project, completed as part of the required course MID 690, can consist of a variety of practical experiences. You will design a project or experience within a sector of international development and make it a reality. Whether through a trip abroad, an internship with an international organization, or other development opportunities, you will apply the skills from your coursework to real-world scenarios in organizations such as:
- The United Nations
- The Red Cross
- Books for Africa
- Peace Corps
- International Rescue Committee
This unique opportunity to get hands-on experience prior to graduation has not only helped alumni to cement their skills, but also connected them to people and organizations within the field, opening up doors to a variety of career options.
