Shaun Pakenham is a passionate educator with the focus of empowering students to identify and relish in the positive traits that make them a valuable, unique citizen of the world. He received his K-12 Special Education teacher licensure for Emotional Behavioral Disabilities (EBD) while obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Special Education at St. Cloud State University. He went on to earn a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.
Shaun carries a desire to move the education field forward by instilling innovation, creativity, and compassion in the school system while building team-focused and caring leaders. Having developed a perspective for diverse learners and facilities through field experience in K-12 schools in both Minnesota and South Africa, Shaun began his career as a teacher in a Setting IV EBD Middle School classroom before moving to a resource room model in both elementary and middle schools in Edina Public Schools. He has enjoyed working as a trainer in emotional/behavioral strategies and implementing strategies for cultural responsiveness as well as developing curriculum for social skills. Shaun is currently enjoying his role as teacher and special education team leader at Highlands Elementary in Edina.
