Scott Gifford is a Senior Business Analyst in the Education Project Management Office for the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He's held a number of leadership positions during his 19 years with Mayo Clinic, working on teams delivering initiatives such as using RFID technology to track activity in the Emergency Department, electronic ordering systems, and big data research collaborations. For the past four years Scott has been assigned to the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine—a national medical school with campuses in Minnesota, Florida, and Arizona. Prior to entering the healthcare field, Professor Gifford spent a number of years in the banking industry, working for U.S. Bank and Wells Fargo.
Scott earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Michigan University with a major in Management, and an M.B.A. from Winona State University. He has been an adjunct instructor with Saint Mary's University of Minnesota for more than 12 years and holds the rank of Assistant Professor. Professor Gifford teaches courses in ethics, organizational behavior, case study analysis, communication, and health care systems. His previous teaching experience includes courses in supervision, management, and leadership.
Professor Gifford also holds the rank of Instructor in Health Care Administration for the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
Scott currently lives with his wife in Byron, Minn. When he's not working or teaching, you can find him on one of his bicycles logging some serious mileage.
