Dr. Ashby is a Dean of Health Sciences in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System. Dr. Ashby came to Minnesota State in October 2012 after serving as the Executive Director of the Northeast Minnesota Area Health Education Center in collaboration with the University of Minnesota and Fairview Health Services for nine years. He earned his Doctorate of Education (EdD) in Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University, a Master of Business Administration in Health Care Administration from Regis University, a Master of Public Health in International Health Policy and Management from the University of Denver, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Denver. In addition, Dr. Ashby is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES), Board Certified in Healthcare Management and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), and a Fellow of the University of Minnesota College of Continuing Education Advocacy Leadership Certificate Program for Vital Aging. Dr. Ashby has taught as adjunct faculty at Saint Mary's University; North Dakota State University College of Pharmacy, Nursing and Allied Sciences; University of Minnesota School of Public Health; and University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy.
