Steve’s professional career began in public accounting. He then moved into industry accounting at Ameriprise, where he worked in Accounting Policies and Procedures, Corporate Consolidations, and the Treasury Department. He had a successful decade as a residential Realtor prior to moving his career into teaching. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in both Accounting and Finance and a Master of Business Administration degree with a specialization in Accounting.
Currently, Steve is an Assistant Professor with Metropolitan State University teaching advanced managerial and cost accounting courses. He taught at the University of Wisconsin – Stout last year as a fixed term instructor teaching Principles of Financial and Managerial Accounting along with one master’s course in Advanced Managerial Cost Analysis.
Steve holds designations as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). He is a member of the Minnesota Society of CPAs, and serves on the Legislative Committee and Speakers Bureau, the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), the American Association of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Association of Fraud Examiners (ACFE). He is also the Metro State campus IMA Advocate and faculty advisor to the Accounting/Finance Club.
