Greta Poser is a full-time associate professor at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota primarily teaching in the Geographic Information Science (GIS) master's program. Recent courses taught include GIS Methods, Database Design and Administration, Data Analytics and Business Modeling, Internet Mapping, Geodesign, and GIS Customization. Professor Poser has more than seven years of teaching experience, including on-ground, online, and blended instruction.
In addition to teaching, Professor Poser advises capstone projects and provides geospatial support for various departments on campus. Professor Poser is a GISCI-certified GIS Professional. As an active member of both the Southeast Minnesota GIS User Group and the Minnesota GIS/LIS Consortium, she provides education informed by knowledge of industry trends and connects students with opportunities to engage with leaders in the field. Prior to teaching, Professor Poser worked as a health science researcher and as a GIS analyst conducting natural resource assessments.
Greta earned her B.A. in physical education from Luther College and her M.S. in geographic information science from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.
