Dr. Donald Heier has 20 years of computer science experience as both an academic instructor and a practitioner. With a passion for information assurance and security, his instructed courses include computer architecture, networking, database management, web development, Linux.
As a program director, Dr. Heier is responsible for course scheduling, student advising, and student recruitment. He also managed the development and implementation of Saint Mary’s new online master’s program in cybersecurity and undergraduate computer science program rebuild.
Dr. Heier earned his Master of Science in Information Systems and Doctor of Science in Information Assurance and Computer Security, both from Dakota State University. He has worked as an instructor and department chair in a variety of colleges and universities throughout the Midwest and is excited to continue nurturing IT professionals at Saint Mary’s.
