Emily has specialized in safety planning for survivors of domestic abuse and considers herself an advocate for social justice. Prior to teaching for Saint Mary's Emily has had the opportunity to teach in the Social Work programs at the University of Wisconsin - Madison and the College of St. Scholastica.

When Emily isn't teaching for Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, she is working as a Career Counselor for Metropolitan State University.
