Dr. Hepscher is a social work educator with 17 years’ generalist practice experience. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from The University of Florida in 2001. Her career began in the child welfare arena where she gained a vast amount of experience through various micro and macro positions held such as foster care case manager, adoptions specialist, counselor, pre-service trainer, as well as supervisory and administrative roles. While holding these positions she simultaneously earned her Master’s in Social Work from The University of South Florida in 2005. After taking a leave of employment in 2010 to care for her young children, Dr. Hepscher reentered the workforce as an Adjunct Professor at Saint Leo University in 2013. Concurrently, she also assumed a role as a community fundraiser/project manager for a non-profit community service provider. While serving in these roles, she completed her Doctorate in Social Work from The University of Saint Thomas in 2020.
Currently, Dr. Hepscher is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Social Work at Saint Mary’s University. She also serves as a fundraising, project manager, and accreditation consultant for a local non-profit school. She resides in Tampa, FL with her husband, Bill, and two daughters, Natalie, 12, and Whitney, 10. They are an active family spending most of their time outdoors, swimming, biking, kayaking, boating on their lake, and hiking. The Hepschers love to travel and experience new places, foods, baseball stadiums, and cultures.
