Sheri Hixon, MSW, LGSW has worked in Human Services for over 30 years. Hixon has dedicated her career towards listening to, supporting, working with, uplifting and empowering diverse and marginalized communities.
Her professional experience includes nonprofit and for profit executive management, community development, public speaking, program and curricula development and evaluation. Service application includes youth leadership development & education, affordable housing, disability services, diversity/equity/inclusion content, entrepreneurship education, and national service.
Since 2019 Hixon has been an undergraduate and graduate level adjunct instructor focusing on Leadership and Social Work. She is presently employed in local government serving as a Senior Social Worker. She has also held leadership a position on a nonprofit board of directors and presently contributes to a municipality’s diversity and equity task force.
Sheri graduated from Augsburg University with a BSW and the University of Minnesota- twin cities with an MSW, community practice concentration. Additionally, she holds a graduate certificate in nonprofit management from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and a certificate in Diversity and Equity from the University of Minnesota.
