Saint Mary's Online Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (RN to BSN)

GENERAL RN TO BSN REQUIREMENTS

Saint Mary's online RN to BSN program requires the following:

  • An unencumbered registered nurse license in a U.S. state
  • An associate degree in nursing
  • A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.00 scale

PREREQUISITE COURSEWORK AND EXPERIENCE

Students must have completed a basic English composition course.

GMAT AND GRE SCORES

GRE and GMAT scores are not required.

TRANSFER CREDITS

Transfer credits are a requirement for enrollment into this accelerated online RN to BSN program. However, students admitted into the program with fewer than 86 transfer credits or who are missing general education courses will need to complete any missing credits/courses throughout their RN-BSN program in order to complete their capstone and graduate.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

Students with transcripts from universities located outside of the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada (except for the Quebec Province) are required to take and pass English proficiency testing.

Saint Mary's accepts the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 72, the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 6.0, the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) with a minimum score of 74 percent, the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) with a minimum score of 51, or the International Test of English Proficiency (ITEP) with a minimum score of 4.0.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Whether you apply through our online application, via hard copy, or in person with a Saint Mary's enrollment counselor, your application must include the following items:

  • $25 non-refundable application fee: Note that Saint Mary's alumni, students seeking readmission, veterans, and active military personnel are exempt from this application fee.
  • Official transcripts: Must be sent separately and directly from your undergraduate institution in a sealed envelope. We don't accept transcripts that are scanned, emailed, or faxed.
  • A written statement: Write about your path to patient care, previous nursing experiences or education, and how you imagine your future in healthcare. This is a great opportunity to share your strengths and other personal information to help us understand how your BSN will contribute to your future in nursing.
  • Two letters of reference or recommendation: Letters should speak to your professional or volunteer experience, previous education, and how it relates to the online nursing program.
  • An up-to-date résumé: Include both your educational and professional experience.
