Lori Ballantyne is a registered nurse who brings 10 years of clinical experience at Abbott Northwestern Hospital to her teaching role at Saint Mary’s. She has worked in the hospital’s Post-surgical Spine Unit, Telemetry Unit, and Oncology Unit in addition to her current work in the Critical Care float pool. She also has 15 years of experience coordinating care for her brother with multiple sclerosis. Lori transitioned to the nursing field after 27 years of working as a designer and data analyst for a Minneapolis-based consulting engineering firm.
Lori earned her Ph.D. in Nursing Practice from the University of Minnesota in December 2015. She holds a Master of Arts in Nursing from Bethel University and a BSN from Metropolitan State University, where she graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She also earned a Leadership in Healthcare Information Technology Certificate from the University of Minnesota.
