Thomas Stinson is an educator who brings more than 18 years of varied nursing experience as a licensed school nurse, correctional health nurse, and home health care nurse to the classroom. An adjunct faculty member at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota since 2011, his primary teaching focus is on integrated pediatric nursing.

Thomas has worked in St. Paul Public Schools as a licensed school nurse in various elementary, middle, and high schools since 1997. He is currently responsible for the health and wellness of more than 2,000 students at Harding High School. His nursing career has also included nearly five years as a correctional health nurse for the Ramsey County Jail, where he evaluated and managed the nursing service for a population of approximately 400 inmates. He began his career in nursing as a home health care nurse for Becklund Home Health Care following a tour in the U.S. Army as an infantry soldier and squad leader.

Thomas earned a Doctorate of Education and his Master of Arts in Education Administration from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, and his BSN from Bethel College and Seminary.
